Hoffnung auf Wandel in Ägypten

Solidaritätsgrüße von Pax Chisti International nach Ägypten

In einem Schreiben vom 29.1. haben sich die Ko-Präsidenten von Pax Christi Internationalis (PCI), Bischof Kevin Dowling und Marie Dennis, an die PCI-Mitgliedsorganisation Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) gewendet, in dem sie ihre Solidarität mit dem Bürgeraufstand in Ägypten zum Ausdruck bringen.

Sie versichern der CEOSS, dass sie Ägypten zu ihrem besonderen Gebetsanliegen machen und betonen insbesondere die Hoffnung, "dass die Respektierung der Menschenrechte, der sozialen Gerechtigkeit und der grundlegenden Freiheitsrechte zur Realität wird" in Ägypten.

"Dear friends, We are watching the dramatic events in Egypt very carefully and are writing now to send you the support and solidarity of Pax Christi International. We pray that the aspirations of the Egyptian people for a society built on respect for human rights, social justice and basic freedoms will become a reality. We welcome your guidance in the coming days and weeks as we look for ways that Pax Christi can express our solidarity in action and advocacy at an international level.
